Acceptable forms of payment are electronic checks and credit cards through Paypal. If you do not have a Paypal account, you can set one up for free at http://www.paypal.com. We do not accept cash or personal checks, cashier's checks, money orders, or any other form of payment not originating through Paypal.
ALL shipping is handled by Homestead Music & Supply, NO EXCEPTIONS. We do not ship outside of the United States and some parts of Canada (for which an extra fee may apply). All shipments will take place after Paypal payment has posted to our business account. Any item marked as "free shipping" will come by UPS Ground or FedEX Ground.
APO-FPO: Homestead Music WILL make every effort to ship to US Armed Forces men & women with an APO/FPO address, depending on location, and extra costs may be involved. WE will do what we can to minimize such costs to you and to us. Payment policies still apply; you will need a Paypal account.
Return shipments: All returns must have a RMA number, which can be obtained by phone. Our contact information is on our homepage. Shipping package must be paid and insured for full value and have the RMA number on the container. We will not accept COD shipments, and will not be held liable for damages that occur during shipment.
I think this covers most, if not all of the technical and legal aspects of shipping and payment.
This is the first Blog entry of Homestead Music & Supply! Welcome!
We are located in Smithville MO, just North of Kansas City, Missouri, in the KCMO Metro area. I am Jeff, the founder and sole proprietor of this fledgling enterprise, and I have been a music enthusiast every since I got my first record player back when I was around 3 or 4 years old. I started with a trumpet in 5th grade, then progressed to the French Horn in Orchestra, the Baritone, and dabbled a bit with a Trombone and some woodwinds. Meanwhile, I took up the guitar, and played that in Jazz band, along with the double-bass and the electric bass. Most recently, I took up the Violin using a Hal Leonard course.
That's the who and the where. Why? Because music is my passion, but so is value. I've seen lots of people walk into a music store and become immediate discouraged because of price. Rarely does a salesperson bother to try and find more affordable alternatives. Well, Homestead Music does not have commissioned salespeople. This is a family owned/family run operation, and our livelihood is our reputation. Our pricing is very fair, with the markups being the same, by percent, on every product. Thus, there is no real advantage of selling an expensive instrument over a less expensive instrument, and every advantage in insuring that the customers receives exactly what they desire.
Even if you don't see exactly what you want - let me know. There is a better than even chance that I can acquire it, usually for less than a bigger music store can.
As for the what, we sell, based on my personal experiences, musical instruments and supplies of high quality, but not usually of high price. There are exceptions, of course, but typically my aim is to provide outstanding value and service. We warrant everything we sell, according to the terms specified on the Home Page. My entire marketing scheme is based on reputation, not on expensive media or junk mail.
So - step right up, so to speak! Welcom And don't forget to check out the Guest Forum page, either.
